On April 3rd, Eurosport France journalist Manu Lonjon tweeted Tottenham Hotspur could look at Lille goalkeeper Mike Maignan, if Hugo Lloris decides to leave the north London club.
Le10 Sport have echoed claims made by Manu Lonjon and go on to provide further information on this case.
It’s stated Maignan remains a ‘priority’ signing for José Mourinho in the upcoming transfer window. Spurs, however, must first work on offloading the World Cup winning keeper before making an attempt to land the 24-year-old.
The former Chelsea manager doesn’t see the French duo competing against each other for the No.1 spot at the club.
Mourinho has a ‘desire to rejuvenate’ Tottenham’s squad next season and to achieve it, the Portuguese tactician will ‘not oppose’ Lloris’ sale, especially if this would help his side land Maignan.
If Tottenham remain keen on signing the Ligue 1 custodian, they can get a deal over the line because Lille are also ready to let their player leave in the summer.
Maignan has kept 12 clean sheets and conceded 27 goals in 28 league appearances this season, while he managed three more clean sheets and allowed six more goals in 38 matches during the 2018/19 campaign.
