Manchester United’s chase for the Fiorentina defender Nikola Milenkovic is once again highlighted by newspaper Tuttosport.

When the Turin outlet doesn’t have some breaking news, they like to keep analysing the transfer market, and that’s what they do in this big story.

They say that Manchester United’s bad start in the season has forced the club to take an immediate action in the January market. That means, of course, buying new defenders.

Tuttosport says José Mourinho’s side are looking for Milenkovic, who would cost at least €40m, according to the tag price that Fiorentina have put on him. The manager ‘wants’ him in the next window and the clubs are making ‘assessments’ over the deal.

Before making such a move, United would like to sell Eric Bailly and use the money to get his replacement.

The newspaper then lists some other players who Manchester United would be interested in, but are unlikely to get.

Those are Toby Alderweireld, Harry Maguire and Milan Skriniar. All too expensive mid season due to their importance at their clubs.

Milenkovic has 12 appearances for Fiorentina this campaign, and has a contract with La Viola until 2022.
