Manchester United are interested in Vancouver Whitecaps attacker Alphonso Davies, according to claims in the Canadian media. The 15-year-old has burst onto the scene this season, and has been one of Whitecaps pluses this season.

The Province have revealed Manchester United’s Jorge Alvial was present at the game between Whitecaps and Seattle Sounders at the weekend with the intentions to get a lowdown on Davies.

Alvial was installed as Manchester United scout in the Americas after working under Jose Mourinho at Chelsea.

The youngster started the game on Sunday, and lasted the whole ninety minutes, but was unable to prevent his side losing 2-1.

With the attention from other clubs for Davies, Whitecaps leaders have acted, and are hoping to tie the player down to the club. No offers have yet to come in for the young attacker, but the MLS side are now bracing themselves for this, so are putting measures into place which would mean it financially benefits them if he were to leave.
