Tottenham Hotspur manager José Mourinho has a new target for the transfer market, according to reports from the Spanish media.
Website Fichajes claims that the coach has set his sights on Lazio striker Ciro Immobile, who’s now in a ‘wish list’ of his.
The Italian striker is claimed to be seen as a potential replacement for Harry Kane, who could be on his way out of the London side in the summer.
Besides the interest from foreign sides such as Paris Saint Germain in the English star, Fichajes points out that the player and the manager don’t have a good relationship, and Mourinho doesn’t want to fight for a player who ‘doesn’t want to stay’.
As for Immobile, it’s said his signature ‘wouldn’t be a problem’, since the hypothetical sale of Kane would ‘leave the coffers full’ at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
We probably don’t even need to point out how strange it is for José Mourinho to be looking for a replacement for Harry Kane at this stage of the season, especially when his own future isn’t exactly stable.
The majority of Tottenham fans would probably rather see the manager gone instead of their top scorer, but that’s something we shall only have an answer on in the summer.
Either way, we recommend taking this with a massive pinch of sale for the time being.
