Don Balon are doubling down on Jerome Boateng to Manchester United, which may well make it double nonsense, but here goes.

First they went with a headline saying ‘Mourinho steals a signing from Florentino Perez which seemed decided’, and claimed the Manchester United manager was set to snatch Boateng from Real Madrid’s clutches.

Then instead of moving on to something else, they’ve continued along the same theme.

It’s claimed ‘The Portuguese coach of Manchester United is pulling the strings to snatch a star from the top Real Madrid boss’.

Mourinho is said to feel there’s ‘no need to skimp’ on spending this summer, knowing he’s up against Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City in the Premier League, and has a big task to get his side back to the top of European football.

Boateng would be an ‘unbeatable reinforcement’, believes Mourinho, and he’s made the ‘necessary instructions’ to his club.

Putting Don Balon and questionable Real Madrid interest to one side, there have been questions raised this summer over the future of Boateng at Bayern Munich.

A few days ago, Bild reported Boateng can leave Bayern for a ‘suitable offer’.
