Spanish newspaper Marca have a big feature in their Wednesday edition looking ahead to Villarreal’s Champions League qualifier against AS Monaco.
Villarreal have the first leg at home, and Marca have gone through Monaco’s squad to pick out some interesting snippets. One of the articles within the spread is about Fabinho, and Manchester United wanting to sign the player.
It’s stated that Fabinho has been linked to Manchester United for weeks, and that Jose Mourinho has ‘in the last hours’ revived an operation that could result in a €30m transfer.
Given Marca’s insistence this is a recent thing, it doesn’t seem like them openly recycling previous claims.
Fabinho is a right back, who can also play in midfield. Antonio Valencia hasn’t been doing badly for Manchester United and whilst he and Matteo Darmian are at the club, bringing in another right back would be excessive.
