A key part of Zinedine Zidane’s Real Madrid where he was given a much freer role than under Rafa Benitez, Toni Kroos doesn’t look likely to leave Santiago Bernabeu anytime soon.

This, however, hasn’t stopped certain websites to speculate that he could go to the Premier League (as has been the case for the past three summers at least), and join up with José Mourinho.

Fichajes.net, who don’t have the best track record with some of their claims, state that Manchester United would be willing to part with €40m (£31m) for the German midfielder, but that wouldn’t be enough.

Real Madrid are apparently wanting a minimum of €45m for Mourinho’s ‘dream’ midfielder, which seems quite cheap for a player widely regarded as one of the best in his role, at least he has been in the past.

Toni Kroos’ arrival would see the exit of another German, Bastian Schweinsteiger, from Old Trafford, a player who, bought by Van Gaal, struggled with injuries and missed the best part of the second half of the season.

The Real Madrid star is currently preparing the Euros with his country, where he has an important role in Joachim Löw’s team.

Every year Toni Kroos is linked with Manchester United, and every year nothing happens.

Could this be a summer of change? We highly doubt it.
