Jose Mourinho could offloading several of his Manchester United squad this summer. Morgan Schneiderlin, Marcos Rojo, Memphis Depay and a few other players have been linked with a move away from Old Trafford.
There isn’t anything concrete in those claims yet, and Mourinho would likely want to assess them during pre-season training.
However, Spanish newspaper Marca claim Mourinho has declared Rojo transferable, and Villarreal are interested in signing him.
Villarreal are looking for a versatile defender, and Rojo fits the bill, but the financial terms of the deal could be a problem. The Spanish side are in the Champions League play-offs, and a transfer could be dependent on the outcome of that.
It also remains to be seen if Manchester United are prepared to offload Rojo yet, as there is a shortage of established defenders at the club, especially if Phil Jones has his usual fitness problems.
