Jose Mourinho is ‘concretely considering’ a move for Tottenham goalkeeper Hugo Lloris this summer as he looks to fix Roma’s problem at the position.
That’s according to Tuttosport, who say the Special One is looking for an experienced shot stopper to fill a problem position for the Italian side.
The newspaper explains that Lloris currently has one year left on his deal at Tottenham and will be 35 by the time that expires, so Spurs are considering a ‘change’ at the position.
Should they do so, then Lloris could have the option to leave, with Mourinho keen on a reunion at new club Roma.
They’ve long needed a new goalkeeper after failing to replace Alisson, and they need a ‘quick change’ in the position.
According to Tuttosport, it is rumoured from France’s training camp that Mourinho has asked Lloris to follow him to Italy.
Those rumours fall in line with the cryptic messages the Tottenham goalkeeper has been sending out about his future.
While his asking price would not be an obstacle for Roma, the €6m wages he currently earns at Tottenham would be an issue.
However, the Growth Decree tax, which taxes gross earnings at only 50%, could come to the rescue in that regard.
It’s a situation to keep an eye on, with agents such as Mino Raiola and Jorge Mendes pushing other options at Roma in the knowledge they want a new number one.
