Lucas Moura cannot shut up about his move from Paris Saint-Germain to Tottenham, and it’s great.

After all, why wouldn’t he be happy after a miserable six months in the French capital, going from a highly used player to featuring just six times prior to his January move to Wembley?

Speaking about it to the Italian, Brazilian, English and French press, the Brazilian appears to be doing a ‘world tour’ of interviews, and he most recently sat down for a chat with France Info about it all.

Asked if he understands how he went from having the second most goals and second most assists at Paris Saint-Germain last season to barely making sub appearances, the 25-year-old still isn’t sure what happened.

He explained: “It’s hard to say. I don’t understand. Up until now, I still don’t understand. I had my best year, and suddenly, the season started and I’m not playing. I was at home. I went to training, and during games I was at home. I wasn’t even in the squads. Unfortunately, those are things than happen in football. I believe in God a lot, and I think he has a project for everyone.

“He gave me the most beautiful gift with my son. Each time I trained and didn’t make the squad, I went home, took my son in my arms and forgot all my problems. That gave me a lot of strength to continue to work and give my best in training. I knew I’d get a new chance in Paris or elsewhere. That’s what happened with Tottenham”.

Explaining it was ‘impossible’ for him to stay in Paris for the rest of the campaign, the former Sao Paulo starlet describes the first half of the season as ‘the most difficult six months of his career’.

Despite being made to feel like a ‘person with no importance, who had done nothing for the club’, the new Tottenham forward still found it very difficult to leave the Ligue 1 leaders, having spent ‘five wonderful years’ there.

As for how his move to Wembley came about, Moura reveals Tottenham ‘didn’t have to say a lot’ to convince him, as everything at the club when he visited it ‘seduced’ him.

Describing the move as a ‘gift from above’, there was no way he could let the opportunity to sign for the Wembley-based club pass him by.

Even if he isn’t playing as much as he would like, the Brazilian reveals he’s happy to be there, because he ‘feels important’, and knows his chance will come.
