It’s not very often you get the manager of a football club contributing to an article about the potential exits of his best players, but then Matthias Jaissle himself may not be at Red Bull Salzburg beyond the summer.
The Austrian club make no secret that their plan is to buy players, develop them, and then sell them on, and it’s a similar situation with managers.
This week’s edition of SportBild has a big feature on Salzburg’s potential summer exits, with Leeds United obviously getting a mention when it comes to Brenden Aaronson.
According to the German magazine, Jaissle will leave his club should a Bundesliga side with potential to qualify for Europe come in during the summer, and that’s the same for multiple players.
Leeds United are said to want Aaronson, and they’re joined in the pursuit by Borussia Monchengladbach, Frankfurt, Hoffenheim and Freiburg.
When asked his comments for the transfer section on Aaronson, Jaissle said: “The special thing is: I hardly know any other ten who works so much against the ball. He always puts himself behind, is a great team player, very hardworking and has a monster mentality.”
That sounds like a good reference to pass to Victor Orta and Marcelo Bielsa at Leeds United, and will help to hype the player’s transfer situation further.
