Earlier today we brought Monday night’s latest on the whole Douglas Luis and Juventus circus.

The gist was that Aston Villa want Weston McKennie, Samuel Iling-Junior and €20m for the Brazilian midfielder. As we’ve stated repeatedly, that doesn’t look like a great deal for the Premier League club.

Tuesday’s edition of Gazzetta dello Sport has their own take, and it gets even worse. The grand old Italian newspaper suggests Aston Villa only want €40m for Luiz, which again is doubtful.

They add that in order to reach this figure, Juventus would need to sell two players. So, rather than seeing McKennie and Iling-Junior as being part of the deal, they present the idea of them being sold to fund it.

Juventus want €20-25m for McKennie, despite his disappointing spell at Leeds United and him only having a year left on his contract, and €15m for Iling-Junior, who also has an expiring contract.

Aston Villa are said to be ‘in a hurry’, with Monchi looking to sell a player before June 30th. If that is the case, and they genuinely need to sell Luiz, then it may be better looking elsewhere than Juventus.
