Tuesday’s edition of AS has Paul Pogba splashed all over the front page, yet the main story inside isn’t really anything new.
When he returns to training, the midfielder is set to ask Ole Gunnar Solskjaer about a transfer again, something which was claimed a few days ago in Spain.
Real Madrid haven’t given up and will try all the way until the Spanish transfer window closes at the beginning of September. Zinedine Zidane wants him, with it being stated the only answers the manager is prepared to hear are ‘yes or yes’.
AS do have an interesting angle, claiming Mino Raiola is using supposed Juventus interest to pressure Real Madrid into sending more money to Manchester United.
It’s claimed interest from the Turin club is ‘much lower than it appeared’, and that it all looks like ‘tactics’ from the agent.
Presumably the idea would be that Zidane sees claims Juve are closing in, puts more pressure on, and Real Madrid panic into offering more money, likely to both Manchester United and the player, to get the deal done.
Whilst it’s not out of the question that Raiola, or any agent, would use such a tactic, it’s probably safe to say Florentino Perez won’t fall for it. Like everyone else he can see the recruitment Juve have already completed, and without midfield sales it’s unlikely they’ll go for Pogba.
