According to Turkish website Fotospor, Championship side Millwall have made an offer to sign Fenerbahce goalkeeper Volkan Demirel.

The 37 year old, who has been playing for Fenerbahce since the 2002/03 season, could leave the Super Lig club after not being offered a new contract.

The Fenerbahce legend is reportedly in the sights of Millwall, and Fotospor say he could accept the offer to move to London for his child’s education.

It’s reported Demirel also wants to play football for at least two more seasons and Millwall could be an option for him.

The Championship side will be looking to strengthen their squad this summer, ready to go again for the new season. Having finished 21st in the last campaign, they’ll want to be climbing the table and moving away from relegation fears.

Demirel has played 507 games for Fenerbahce but it looks like he will become a free agent at the end of this month, enabling Millwall to land him on a free transfer in this transfer window.
