Last month, Manchester City crushed Tottenham Hotspur’s hopes of winning their first trophy since 2008.
Pep Guardiola’s side registered a 1-0 victory over Spurs in the EFL Cup final on April 25th and less than a week before the tie at Wembley, the north London club sacked José Mourinho and appointed Ryan Mason as an interim manager until the end of this season.
Tottenham are yet to appoint the Portuguese tactician’s permanent successor, while Mourinho has already found a new employer.
Earlier this week, AS Roma announced the former Chelsea coach will be managing them from the start of the 2021/22 season.
Market intermediary and agent, Mario Cenolli, has backed the Giallorossi to make an attempt for Harry Kane, if Edin Džeko decides to leave Serie A side in the summer.
“He could bet on Portuguese players, or Vertonghen, Lucas Moura or, if Dzeko goes away, Harry Kane, but that would be a big coup. It’s not like he won anything with Spurs, [so] he might as well leave,” Cenolli told Calciomercato.it.
Even if Mourinho can seduce Kane to follow him to the Italian capital club, Cenolli hasn’t taken into account the money Roma need to take the England international away from the Premier League side.
