It’s been a relatively interesting day for the Jorginho to Manchester City saga, with Sky Sports claims of a second offer being made surfacing, with others refuting that information.

Either way, we are still awaiting an agreement between the two clubs, and so is the Italy international’s agent, as he explained the current situation to Radio Kiss Kiss in Italy.

Relayed by CalcioNapoli24, Joao Santos said: “Jorginho is a Napoli player. First, an agreement between clubs needs to be found and then I can intervene and talk with City. I’m still waiting. Jorginho is the top priority of the English club. I’m not aware that Napoli will wait for up to five days.

“Jorginho is an important player for Napoli, and it’s right that they ask for a large amount. Jorge hasn’t spoken with Guardiola.”

The agent then went on to explain that he still hadn’t received a phone call from the Serie A club’s new manager, Carlo Ancelotti, and stipulated all signs pointed towards his client not fitting in the former Chelsea manager’s plans.

That means there’s also no talks between Napoli and the Manchester City target regarding a renewal, with everyone seemingly expecting a departure this summer.

It was reported on Tuesday that a deal could be completed within the next 48 hours, but after this intervention from Jorginho’s representative, that seems like a very optimistic timeline.

Italy’s inability to qualify for the World Cup means there is no rush here.
