Working on more summer additions, Reading FC reportedly have an agreement for a new signing coming from Portugal.
According to outlet Record, there’s a deal between the Royals and Porto for the transfer of 25-year-old midfielder Mamadou Loum.
The report claims the player ‘is on his way’ to Reading, where he’s said to be moving on a loan deal which will include a buying option worth €5m for the Championship side.
Record adds that Loum ‘was not part of Porto’s plans’ for the new season, and that’s why his departure was made easier.
Reading’s interest in Loum had already been revealed earlier today by journalist Pedro Sepulveda.
His story, however, only claimed the Royals had made an offer for the signing, with the bid ‘on the table’ so it now sounds like the clubs were able to reach an agreement pretty fast.
Loum spent the last season at Spanish side Alavés, where he made 31 appearances, and now returned to Porto, where he has a contract running until 2024. With the Dragons not counting on him, they certainly expect the buying clause to be triggered.
