The French midfielder’s return to Manchester United is considered to be pretty much a done thing, so the Italian media have moved on to who will replace him.
Marco Verratti, Axel Witsel and Nemanja Matic are all mentioned as possible recruits.
The problem with Matic is that Chelsea want to keep him, so Gazzetta say the only way Matic could move to Juventus is if he submitted a transfer request to Chelsea, and made the club aware of his wishes.
Even then, if Antonio Conte is as keen to keep Matic as the Italian press feel he is, then he may not get his wish. Diego Costa is said to have wanted to return to Atletico Madrid, but he’s so far been denied the opportunity of that move.
Verratti would also be a very hard transfer for Juventus to pull off, with PSG unwilling to sell the Italian international.
