Alexis Mac Allister is still to physically arrive at Brighton & Hove Albion, since he’s currently playing the Pre-Olympic tournament for Argentina.
And it turns out the more Boca Juniors fans see of him with the national team, the more it hurts them to see such a good player leaving the club sooner than expected.
Mac Allister featured in Argentina’s 3-2 win over Uruguay last night, and was selected as the man of the match after scoring two goals.
The first one, from a free kick, had a little help from the opposition goalkeeper. But the second one came from a long shot, which has become one of his specialities in his short career.
Mac Allister spoke to the Argentine media after the match, and when asked about the move to Brighton, he’s claimed he’s trying to keep entirely focused on the national team.
“I try to be focused on the present, as I always did. I am aware of everything that was talked about. I think I’ve cleared things up. It is best to be thinking about this tournament,” Mac Allister told TyC (via El Intransigente).
El Intransigente writes that Brighton first offered US$500k to cut his spell short, but Boca Juniors turned down the bid, later accepting a new offer of US$800k.
