The big transfer story around PSG right now is of course the impending arrival of Lionel Messi. He’s expected to arrive in Paris on Monday and that’s seen fans and media travel to Bourget airport, trying to be the first to get a glimpse of the former Barcelona player.
FootMercato say Messi won’t bring an end to PSG’s window, despite the huge amount of money the Ligue 1 club will have to pay out in wages. They’ve been linked with Rennes’ Eduardo Camavinga, and it’s stated a move will be made for him before the end of the current window.
Manchester United have also been linked with Camavinga, but FootMercato say the player prefers the move to PSG, finding it ‘difficult to refuse’ the opportunity.
The midfielder has less than a year left on his current contract, and it’s explained that after asking for €100m for their player, Rennes would now be hoping for €50m.
According to FootMercato that figure could end up being a lot lower, given the pressure Rennes are under. Should the claims be correct then Manchester United will likely have to look elsewhere this summer.
It’s worth noting that last week a source close to the player told Sport Witness that Manchester United haven’t held any talks to sign Camavinga.
