Juventus midfielder Emre Can prefers a move to Borussia Dortmund over Everton this month.
That’s according to Gazzetta Dello Sport, who say that his ‘relationship’ with Juventus ‘seems to be at an end.’
The German midfielder joined the Italian giants on a free transfer from Liverpool in 2018 and was a regular in his first season, with 37 appearances in all competitions.
He has featured less this year under Maurizio Sarri, though, managing just eight appearances and 279 minutes of football in total.
A move away has looked likely this month, with Everton thought to be keen as they look to add a central midfielder to Carlo Ancelotti’s squad.
However, it seemed the former Liverpool man was not keen on a return to Merseyside given his past association with the Reds.
Nonetheless, Everton remain interested, according to Gazzetta, who say Juventus would ‘gladly’ sell the player to boost their budget.
Borussia Dortmund are also keen, though, and Can prefers moving back to Germany than heading to Everton at this point.
However, the newspaper is insisting that the ‘two tracks must be followed until the end’ suggesting that, while Can has his preference, Everton are not entirely out of the running just yet.
