The Argentine press continues not to be sure about the future of Alexis Mac Allister.

Signed by Brighton back in January, the midfielder is currently having a loan spell at Boca Juniors which is supposed to run until next summer.

But according to El Intransigente today, it’s not sure he’s staying in Argentina for the next six months, because the Seagulls want to count on him ‘as soon as possible’, given the form he’s been showing in his country.

Mac Allister himself doesn’t want to go, the outlet says. Even though he’s officially a Brighton player, he’s more keen on spending longer in Argentina.

It’s been said a few times in Argentina that Brighton won’t be able to take Mac Allister now, because the only clause which would allow them to do it would only be triggered if he wasn’t being used by Boca, which is not the case.

Despite that, it’s not being ruled out that Brighton could pay a fee to Boca Juniors to cut the loan move short. Yet, that doesn’t appear to be what Mac Allister wants.
