Fanatik report Besiktas midfielder Mohamed Elneny has told manager Abdullah Avci he wants to play against Wolverhampton Wanderers in the Europa League on Thursday.

Yesterday it was reported in the Turkish press that Avci will rest his key players against the Premier League side, as he’s focusing on his side’s upcoming league game against Yeni Malatyaspor.

However, despite Avci’s intentions, Fanatik report Elneny has informed him he wants to feature against Wolves, because he wishes to test himself against Nuno Espírito Santo’s team.

Following his move to Arsenal from Basel the Egypt international struggled to make an impact in England, and it seems he wants to prove some of his doubters wrong by facing Wolves.

Since the 28 year old was loaned from Arsenal he’s proved himself a key player for Avci.

His good run of form has helped his side win six consecutive league matches, and they are currently 2nd in the Super Lig despite a terrible start to the campaign.

The Egyptian has made 14 appearances for Besiktas in all competitions this season.
