It appears that Houssem Aouar is edging ever closer to his move to Nottingham Forest.
The Lyon star has been linked with a move to City Ground over the past week or so, and while a few fans had to rub their eyes in disbelief at first, it appears it could actually be happening.
That’s what L’Equipe are reporting on Wednesday, claiming the player has ‘found an agreement on five-year contract’ with Nottingham Forest.
While that is a big step forward, Lyon and the Tricky Trees ‘haven’t been able’ to do the same just yet, and the player still remains ‘hesitant’ about it all, seeing as it’s an important decision for his career.
The Ligue 1 side have asked around €15m for the final year of their midfielder’s contract, which is described as ‘not inaccessible’ for Nottingham Forest, who have already spent wildly on the transfer market to date.
However, the Premier League side’s last offer was only of €10m + bonuses on a future sale, which ‘didn’t convince’ Lyon.
Aouar made 45 appearances in all competitions for the French club last season, scoring eight goals and assisting another four.
