A few days after the speculations started, A Bola ran an article on Tuesday about Ruben Neves. They don’t seem to have anything new, but at least they gather the information which has been published by different European outlets so far.
Neves, who’s reportedly wanted by Liverpool and Manchester United, could be on his way out of Porto in the case any of the clubs pay his price. Porto would accept to sell the midfielder due to their need to fit in with financial fair play, but the newspaper says the club haven’t received any formal offers.
The youngster would reportedly accept a move to the Premier League, especially to Manchester United, since he is said to be well known by José Mourinho.
What makes it hard to believe that this deal is happening is the price. The 19-year-old has a €40m release clause, and A Bola still insist Porto want something like that… despite previous claims of a big discount being available.
Would Liverpool or Manchester United spend €40m in a youngster who isn’t even a regular starter at Porto yet? Portuguese papers tend to think that Premier League clubs can pay the price they want, but this seems to be a little exaggerated at the moment.
