Lyon midfielder Houssem Aouar ‘is being courted’ by Fulham as the Frenchman aims to move to the Premier League before the end of the window.

That’s according to L’Equipe, who say that following the departure of Lucas Paqueta to West Ham the focus is now on his former teammate Aouar’s future.

The midfielder would like to secure himself a move if he can, believing that he is at the turning point of his career and to develop further he needs to move to a new environment.

He’s been the subject of several offers from Benfica already, but the Portuguese league does not appeal to him, and he has instead ‘set his sights’ on the Premier League.

Leicester have been keen on him for months but it is now Fulham who are ‘active’ and looking to get a deal over the line.

The newspaper reports that Marco Silva’s side are ‘already exchanging’ with Lyon and the player about a move to Craven Cottage.

Aouar sees Fulham as an ‘interesting entry point’ to the Premier League and an opportunity to showcase himself in England and secure a move to a bigger club in future.

The problem at the minute is that Fulham do not have the financial resources to do a permanent transfer. Thus, the situation is ‘complex’ as Lyon don’t seem interested in doing a loan deal.
