Middlesbrough forward Viktor Fischer is concerned his lack of games since arriving in England could cost him his place in the Denmark team. The Dane had an impressive game in his country’s 1-0 win over Armenia, and has been labelled ‘King of assists’ in the Danish media.
Voetbal International have reported on comments the ex-Ajax layer made in the aftermath of Denmark’s win last night in which he revealed he’d been looking forward to the game all week. The youngster said this was one his best moments in his international career, but he was concerned he could lose his place in the Denmark team.
Fisher realises it’s an issues he’s not yet started a game for Middlesbrough, so when he returns to the club he hopes to force his way into the starting eleven.
“I looked forward all week for this game. It was amazing. This is one of my finest moments as an international. I know I can lose my place in the national team because I’ve been sitting on the bench in my four matches in England, but I am keen and want to force a stating place at Middlesbrough,” said the Denmark international.
Fisher has been hailed as he key player in during Denmark’s win over Armenia after he set up Christian Erikson for the only goal of the game. The Tottenham Hotspur star could have made the game safe late into the second, but missed a penalty.
