It’s been confirmed by Scouting Team that Middlesbrough will be present in Bulgaria next week, checking out potential young signings.

Scouting Team provides a network for clubs, and this year they’ve been used by the likes of Sheffield Wednesday, Middlesbrough ,and most recently Leicester City.

On Monday, Middlesbrough’s head of recruitment Gary Gill will travel Bulgaria to get another lowdown on the talent being produced. Gill will spend two days in the country, with reports the focus will be on watching U19 games.

It’s likely this will be a general scouting trip, with no particular players on Middlesbrough’s agenda, but it gives an opportunity for youngsters to get a move to England.

Middlesbrough conducted a similar scouting mission in May when they watched the U19 game between PFC Septemvri Sofia and PFC CSKA Sofia.

At the time it was reported head of academy recruitment Martin Carter spent the weekend in Bulgaria looking for potential youngsters to bring to the club.
