RSC Anderlecht have been priced out of a move for a Middlesbrough player, with the Belgian side now walking away and moving on to other targets.
That’s reported by Sacha Tavolieri, who states Anderlecht have been looking to reinforce themselves with a central defender and a goalkeeper this summer. They obviously have a limited budget and are working in that regard.
Tavolieri says they ‘took information’ on potentially signing Rav van den Berg. That will mean they’ve made contact with either Middlesbrough or the player’s camp to find out how much a move would cost.
This is where this particular idea came to a very abrupt halt, with it explained the Boro player was considered ‘too expensive’ for Anderlecht.
Van de Berg has a Middlesbrough contract lasting until June 2027, with the 20-year-old currently valued at €4m by Transfermakrt.
Last season the youngster made 39 appearances for the Championship side, was certainly a much member of the squad and a regular starter towards the end of the campaign.
