Denmark lost 3-2 away on Saturday to Poland, but showed a lot of character to get themselves back into the match after going behind.
Poland went 3-0 ahead at the start of the second half, and it all looked over for Denmark’s chances, but they pulled two back, leaving themselves 20 minutes to level the game.
Viktor Fischer moved to Middlesbrough in the summer from Ajax, having been linked with a Premier League move for some time. He’s still settling into English football but has shown good character so far, and always sounds good when talking about football.
Quoted by Danish newspaper Ekstra Bladet, the Middlesbrough player explained: “We must continue to play with the energy we have shown in most matches. We have lost one match and were unable to concentrate in certain situations against Poland. But we have confidence and a strong belief in what we do.
“It is essential that we beat Montenegro, so we do not again end up in a situation where we are behind and need to catch up.”
Denmark have a great group of youngsters coming through, and will be hoping they can grow together on the pitch.
