Middlesbrough boss Aitor Karanka has often taken his players to Marbella to enjoy the warm weather, and reports in Spain suggest the newly promoted Premier League team could go there again for a pre-season friendly.

According to Spanish website El Correo, Middlesbrough could face Real Betis in mid-July in Marbella.

Middlesbrough last visited Marbella in February for a five-day training stint, as they were chasing Premier League promotion.

Karanka’s team face York City on July 9 at Bootham Crescent, and Aston Villa on July 30th at Villa Park, so there is certainly room for a training camp and friendly in Marbella.

Earlier, reports suggested Middlesbrough will announce two more friendlies, as they prepare their return to the Premier League.
