Andreas Samaris is one player who could be leaving Benfica this summer. The Greek midfielder doesn’t have a guaranteed spot in the team, with speculation is growing Middlesbrough are interested signing the player.

Boro’s interest is consensus in two Portuguese newspapers, Record and O Jogo, although they disagree in which stage the conversations currently are.

Record says the English side have contacted Benfica, but they are still to make an offer after hearing the Portuguese club’s demands. The Eagles would want at least €20m to sell the 27-year-old.

However, O Jogo claims that Middlesbrough have already tried to sign the player, but he rejected a move because he doesn’t want to join a club who are below Benfica’s level.

The fact is these rumours aren’t making the situation with Samaris’ future ideal. Both stories report that on his Snapchat, the player posted a video saying: “Enough! What else are we going to hear? I’m sick of hearing all this shit!”

Let’s see what he’s going to say after having his name in two newspapers today.
