It may be Middlesbrough who have bid for a player, but it’s probably the Manchester United fans who will really enjoy the transfer if it happened. That’s because Boro have reportedly made an offer for the former Manchester United midfielder Anderson.
The information was published by Esporte Interativo and later reiterated by UOL, who say the player has received three bids to leave Internacional.
Besides Middlesbrough, Braga and a Chinese group of investors have also tried to sign the former Old Trafford star, but the 28-year-old has chosen to stay at the Brazilian club instead.
Manchester United fans quickly took to Anderson, with his chant remaining an Old Trafford favourite for some years, but the Brazilian’s time at the club was hampered by serious injuries.
UOL claims Anderson has the wish to fight for promotion with Inter next year, since they’ve just been relegated for the first time in the club’s history.
The problem is that Inter’s board would be looking to offload some players due to the smaller budget they will have in second division. And even though Anderson is on that list, there’s not much they can do as he still has two more years on his contract.
None of the offers have arrived to Inter, since they were all rejected by the player first. Curiously all of these clubs were offering him more than what he makes in Brazil (around £25k per week), so if it’s true he really is showing the desire to stay.
Internacional want to sell, he wants to stay to play in the second division. We all know how to solve this. Just show a bit more money, gentlemen.
