West Ham striker Enner Valencia is very close to being sold, according to reports from Mexico today.
The Mexico edition of Record brings together many international stars who Mexican clubs will be signing this window – even using a front page meme to mock America – and include the 27-year-old West Ham player in the mix.
They say Valencia is close to joining Tigres. The signing is considered as a ‘surprise’ from the club, although it’s not mentioned how much they’ll have to pay.
The player hasn’t been in West Ham’s plans for a while, having spent last season on loan at Everton, where he scored only three Premier League goals.
It’s hard to believe Record would have got six exclusives from different clubs in the same day, so perhaps these deals aren’t quite as done as is presented.
Tigres wanting Valencia makes sense, them being prepared to pay what the West Ham player wants is an entirely different thing.
Still, we’ll be keeping an eye on this one.
