Sheffield United fans may remember the rumours linking Roger Martínez to the club during the last transfer window.

Several claims from Mexico said there was a verbal agreement to sign the America attacker, and even his father was hoping the move would happen.

Martínez ended up staying in Mexico, but a departure seems to be on the horizon once again, according to a story from Grupo Reforma, which is covered by MSN today.

It’s said he was one of the players who caused trouble during America’s loss to Cruz Azul, and the club’s board are now looking to offload him.

The report claims that it’s also the player’s idea to move to Europe, and he wants it to happen during the January window.

That’s when MSN recalls that Sheffield United had made offers to sign him this year, but America’s board didn’t make his departure easy, having blocked the move.

Perhaps this situation could make things easier for the Blades this time.
