For some unknown reason, the Italian media have it in their mind that Wolverhampton Wanderers would be prepared to let Leander Dendoncker go for less than €30m.

This is the same Leander Dendoncker who has become a key part of Nuno Espírito Santo’s plans at Molineux over the past season, and who offers so much versatility the Portuguese manager doesn’t know what to do with it all.

But, despite all this, a number of reports in Italy, the latest coming from Gazzetta dello Sport, believe a fee of €25m (his valuation) could be enough to convince Wolves, a team hardly strapped for cash, to let one of their more important players go.

For a brief period, it was thought Dendoncker would be the replacement for Sergej Milinković-Savić should the Serbian leave, but now there’s a growing belief Lazio, who are the team pushing to sign the Belgian, could get him even if their star stayed put.

It’s described as a ‘difficult track’, but one the Serie A side are determined to ‘try and chase’.

Once again, Jorge Mendes is brought up, as they know anything that happens in Wolverhampton’s transfer market goes through the Portuguese super agent, who has an ‘optimal relationship’ with Lazio.

Frankly, we think there’s a bit of delusion going on here, but that’s just us.

Maybe we’ll be proven wrong and Dendoncker will be sold for peanuts, because, let’s be honest, the world is a bit weird at the moment.

If you ask us (and we know full well you haven’t, but we’ll tell you anyway), if the Belgium international leaves Wolves, it’ll be for a lot more than €25m.
