Julen Lopetegui is one of the managers being linked with the Wolves job, after the Premier League club parted ways with Bruno Lage at the weekend.
Multiple options have been linked and there’s a few claims that Jorge Mendes will be working in the middle of things trying to find a manager for a club he has a lot of contacts to.
Mendes also has a good relationship with Lopetegui’s current club Sevilla, specifically with their sporting director Monchi.
The Spanish club currently find themselves 17th place in La Liga, which is an even more disappointing start to the season than Wolves have had. Naturally, there’s already been questions around Lopetegui’s future, and Diario de Sevilla pick up the Wolves rumours.
According to the Spanish newspaper, Mendes could act as a mediator and offer Lopetegui a ‘dignified’ exit from Sevilla and a quick move to Wolves. If that were to be the case, Monchi could dismiss the manager within ‘a few hours or days’.
Lopetegui is expected o take a Sevilla training session on Monday.
Meanwhile, the newspaper links Jorge Sampaoli, also said to be of interest to Wolves, with the Sevilla job.
