By this stage, Wolverhampton Wanderers fans are pretty familiar with the way Jorge Mendes pulls his strings all over the European market.
Now with another Portuguese player linked to the club, this time João Mario from Inter Milan, it’s not a surprise that it’s the super agent who’s behind the move.
Newspaper Tuttosport writes a paragraph on this situation today, saying that this transfer is only part of the plans that Mendes has with Inter Milan this summer.
It’s claimed that besides working on João Mário’s transfer to Wolves, the agent has also offered Angel Di Maria to Inter from Paris Saint Germain. Mendes doesn’t represent the Inter player, but that hasn’t stopped him from getting involved.
The newspaper doesn’t bring any details on how developed things are, and just make it clear that Mendes is working on both deals.
João Mário signed for Inter Milan on a €40m deal in 2016, and after one and a half years at the club, was sent to West Ham on a short loan spell.
As he hasn’t impressed in these two years, a permanent departure from the Italian surprise wouldn’t be a surprise.
There are claims throughout the Italian media today, again, on João Mário potentially moving to Wolves and it looks like part of a wider Mendes relationship with Inter.
