On Thursday, the idea that Manchester United could use Jadon Sancho in a swap deal to get Donyell Malen was mooted by Bild, and there has since been an update.

This comes from their journalist Christian Falk, who took to X to reveal that the Red Devils and Borussia Dortmund are having a ‘meeting today’ to discuss the potential transfer.

He explains that it is centred around an exchange of players between Manchester United and their Bundesliga counterparts, but there is an alternative route to a happy ending.

Everyone is sorely aware of the rift that has been created between Erik ten Hag and the England international, who no longer has a place at Old Trafford.

That is why an exit in January made sense for the forward, and if Manchester United can get something in exchange, whether it be a player or money, then even better.

That’s why the idea of replacing him with Donyell Malen makes sense, and Dortmund’s demand is either €30m for their player or a straight swap with Sancho.

One to keep an eye out, as this could move quickly if all parties approve.
