Marouane Fellaini has been linked with yet another club, and yet again his wage demands have been claimed to be a problem.
The Manchester United midfielder sees his contract expire at the end of June and really needs to find a new club quickly if he’s not to sign a renewal.
L’Equipe report that representatives of the player have travelled to the south of France to hold talks about a potential move to Marseille this summer. Things seemed to start off well, given the trip, but it’s the details which saw the Ligue 1 side walk away.
The French newspaper report the potential for a deal to happen quickly disappeared, as Marseille wouldn’t go anywhere near the demands Fellaini is said to be making.
Fellaini spent much of the week linked with a move to AC Milan, and whilst those links continue to a certain degree, things aren’t quite as heated as they were a few days ago. Fellaini’s salary is also seen as an issue in Italy, and he may have to lower his demands at some point.
L’Equipe say Atletico Madrid and Manchester United remain as options, but it’s got to be considered unlikely the Spanish club would go near the huge wages either.
