After not being used in Arsenal’s first couple of matches in the Premier League, it seems Nicolas Pepe could now have a chance at a different club this season.

French outlet Foot Mercato today reports that Nice are interested in signing the 27-year-old winger on a loan deal.

Claiming that Pepe is ‘destined for a substitute role’ under Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta, the report says his agent is ‘listening to potential offers’, and this one from the Ligue 1 side ‘caught his attention’.

A first meeting has already taken place, and the player ‘would be interested’ in the idea of playing in France again.

The Gunners spent €80m to sign Pepe from Lille back in 2019. In his three seasons at the London side, the attacker had 27 goals and 21 assists in 112 appearances.

Even though Foot Mercato claim both Nice and the player are keen on the transfer, it still isn’t said whether Arsenal are open to it, or even if they’d rather make a permanent sale, given the situation the player is going through.
