Reports from the Brazilian media on Wednesday suggest that Everton may still make a move for the signing of the Grêmio star Everton Cebolinha.
It was first UOL, and they said there was a meeting at the weekend in Liverpool which ‘kept alive’ the chances of a bid for the 23-year-old.
The Toffees are ‘studying’ the possibility of making an offer for the player before the end of the January transfer window.
Grêmio are said to be ‘waiting for contact’, since his sale would be great to solve the club’s financial needs. They’re claimed to be ‘aware of the possibility’, even though there seems to be nothing on the table for now.
Later on, it was Radio Grenal who talked about the possibility of Everton making an effort. They spoke about the chances of a €30m deal, and the claims were covered on their website.
That two different sources are reporting similar things, at around the same time, about Everton’s interest may mean there’s something behind this. Of course, that could just be agents trying to push the player to Goodison Park, which may be behind the meeting in Liverpool.
