Look away Liverpool fans, but the latest news from Spain isn’t good if you really want Philippe Coutinho to stay at Anfield.

Of course, it’s up to you to believe it or not, as is the case with every transfer rumour, but Cadena COPE claim on Tuesday afternoon the Brazilian playmaker’s move to the La Liga runners-up could be made official this week.

According to their journalist, Helena Condis, Coutinho’s representatives are said to be meeting Liverpool in the next few hours in order to ‘unblock’ the situation between club and player so that their client can happily hop on a plane and end up in Spain.

The radio station claim Barcelona will pay more than €100m (which was always going to be the case), reminding their readers/listeners the player has handed in a ‘transfer request’ in order to make his stance on the matter clear.

Considering how public Liverpool have gone on the whole Coutinho saga with their two paragraph statement, you would think the likelihood of them backing down is minimal, but there’s always a risk of ending up with an unhappy player for a whole season.

What would you do? Sell or keep a Coutinho who might not want to perform 100%?
