It appears that QSI’s interest in Leeds United is very serious, as the Paris Saint-Germain owners are expected to hold a meeting about an investment in the club on Monday.
The news comes from L’Equipe, who explain the Qatari company are ‘in talks to buy’ the Championship side, and Nasser Al-Khelaifi will be in Doha to talk to the Elland Road club’s ‘boss’, which we can only assume is Andrea Radrizzani.
The French newspaper state that negotiations ‘have been ongoing for months’, and despite rumours of an interest in AS Roma, it appears that Leeds is of bigger interest to QSI, wanting to have a foothold in English football.
This all comes after an article in the Financial Times revealed Radrizzani’s interest in selling at small amount of shares to a new investor, but L’Equipe’s article appears to suggest the Paris Saint-Germain owners want a little bit more than that.
Leeds United came very close to returning to the Premier League this season under Marcelo Bielsa, losing in the playoff semi-final after a thrilling return legs against Derby County.
