Inter Milan’s transfer guru Walter Sabatini has travelled to China for serious meetings with the club’s owners.
The transfer stance at Inter for January seems to be quite confused, according to various Italian reports, with players being linked but it not being thought there’s lots of money available.
Gazzetta dello Sport list three prime targets for Inter in January, with Henrikh Mkhitaryan among them. The Armenian isn’t exactly having a great period at Manchester United, and has been repeatedly linked with a January exit.
Inter would need funds to build a deal with Manchester United, whether that be on a loan or permanent basis, and Sabatini is trying to convince those in charge at the club.
With Inter being third in Serie A, but with Lazio and Roma close behind them, there’s a worry what looked like a good season could soon fall to pieces, and Champions League qualification be in danger.
That’s why Sabatini wants backing for transfers like getting Mkhitaryan from Manchester United this month, but he’s going to have to be very persuasive.
