Getting late transfer deals over the line can prove very tricky indeed. Organising and completing a medical, having the legal paperwork compiled and avoiding any last minute changes.

It seems that on Joselu’s loan move from Stoke City to Deportivo La Coruna, the medical part was entirely missed out. Joselu is expected in Galicia tonight, and then he’ll go through his tests on Morning morning at Hospital HM Modelo de A Coruna.

Spanish newspaper AS don’t say what happens if the Stoke player fails his medical tests, although it’s not quite as serious with the move only being a loan deal to start with.

The surprisingly late medical would appear to show how relaxed everyone is about the situation, and Depor probably weren’t as panicky as some clubs are over medicals.

Even if a medical is failed, a club can still choose to take a player, depending on their own level of appetite for risk, and any associated insurance.
