Anderlecht are ‘close’ to completing a deal to sign Manchester City youngster Taylor Harwood-Bellis, according to Het Laatste Nieuws.
The 19-year-old spent the second half of last season on loan at Blackburn Rovers and will spend the new campaign under the orders of Vincent Kompany.
Harwood-Bellis has taken the step to join the Belgium club on a loan deal after completing his medical tests in Brussels on Wednesday.
HLN add the operation is in the ‘final phase’, meaning there could be an imminent announcement of the transfer.
The centre-back has made eight appearances for City’s first team, and the Premier League winners believe in his talent, which is why they offered him a new contract last December.
His current deal runs down in 2024.
For this reason, the Jupiler Pro League side will not have any option to make the youngster’s stay permanent next summer.
City have decided to sanction the temporary move for Harwood-Bellis so that he can ‘gain experience’ at Anderlecht.
A loan move this summer seems to benefit all parties involved.
