Alexander Sorloth could go right down to the wire, according to claims coming from Denmark on Wednesday evening.

Deadline day started with Norwegian claims Sorloth had left FC Midtylland’s Dubai training camp to travel to London and sign for Crystal Palace.

Then in Denmark they rolled things back a little, explaining everything wasn’t quite sorted out but the transfer was still expected to happen.

There’s disagreement in the Danish media whether Sorloth’s transfer depends on FC Midtylland bringing someone else in first, but the the general consensus is that won’t kill the deal.

Danish newspaper Ekstra Bladet have an update on things, and quote a source close to the transfer as saying: “It may be the very last second.”

There’s said to remain some disagreement on fee, with FC Midtylland said to now be demanding €15m from Crystal Palace, and there being a struggle to agree how much of that figure will be bonuses.

With Sorloth now having arrived in London, it would be a surprise if Palace don’t get this one over the line.
