Real Betis have identified Leeds United’s Junior Firpo as one of their options ahead of the summer transfer window.
Estadio Deportivo intially reported on this and it’s been relayed in today’s edition of Record, who also share their own stance on the Leeds player and other targets.
The La Liga side are planning to sign a left-back in the next window and their target list also includes PSG’s Juan Bernat, currently on loan at Benfica.
Junior knows the Spanish club well as he spent five years with them between 2014 and 2019. It’s claimed Real Betis want the Dominican Republic international and his name is ‘on the table’ at the club.
The fullback’s current deal at Leeds lasts until 2025 and despite this, the report states he ‘may be too expensive’ for Manuel Pellegrini’s side.
Record make no mention of figures, but it’s clear that the Andalusian club won’t be able to take Junior away from Leeds in the next window. As well as the Leeds player, a move for Aston Villa’s Álex Moreno is also ruled out due to the high cost.
Junior, who has been a key player under Daniel Farke, has managed seven assists from 31 games this season.
