Alexis Sánchez has been a hot topic in the Italian media this week.
Following his great performance against Brescia, where he scored a goal and made two assists, it’s time to discuss Inter Milan’s possibility to sign him on a permanent deal from Manchester United.
Reports from the Italy today have claimed that manager Antonio Conte is convinced of keeping the player at the Nerazzurri for next season, and the local press has been finding people who agree with him.
Website Passione Inter features today an interview with Luis Fuentes, who played with Sánchez at Chilean side Cobreloa.
The former centre-back, who’s followed the striker’s career very closely, says Inter Milan would be making the right decision by keeping him.
He said: “Yes, I think Inter should make the maximum effort, everything possible to hold him back. For the fact that he’s returning to his level, and when he’s in shape it makes the difference, returning to being what he was two or three years ago. It would be very nice if the Nerazzurri made him stay in Milan.”
“I think it would be ideal for him to stay in Milan. Now he has adapted well after the first months in which he had to put in gear, changing again would be like going back in this direction and I think it wouldn’t help him much.”
Since joining Inter Milan on his loan from Manchester United at the start of the season, Alexis Sanchez has two goals and six assists in 20 appearances.
Things didn’t look great in his start, mostly because of injuries, but he’s been looking pretty fresh since the Coronavirus break.
